About us

ECHO Project is an EU-funded program, coordinated by the Institute of Genomics of University of Tartu, focused on expanding the concept and methodology for human past studies in eastern baltics countries, by leveraging the expertise and competence of an international network of experts.

Our vision

We aim to be a regional leader in human genomics research, advancing knowledge of genetic diversity, health, and disease to benefit science, medicine, and society.

Management skills

Improved through collaboration across five research centers involved.

Knowledge sharing

Fostering open exchange of ideas and stimulating critical thinking, leading to more effective results.

Interdisciplinarity

Integrating diverse perspectives and methods to solve complex challenges together.

Global resonance

Through impactful solutions with worldwide relevance, capable of engaging the research community.

Toward the future of genomics research

Our mission

We are committed to advancing the frontiers of genomics through rigorous research on genomics and other omics data, as well as the development of innovative analytical methodologies.

A central focus of our work is the training and development of outstanding early-career scientists, supported by an environment that fosters academic excellence and innovation.

Beyond fundamental research, we actively engage in translating scientific knowledge into impactful applications, promoting genomics-driven innovation across both the public and private sectors. Last but not least we work to promote a worldview grounded in scientific inquiry and empirical evidence.
