ECHO celebrated the Day of Women in Science

From 9 to 15 February, the Women in Science theme week is held to highlight the role of women and girls in science, break gender stereotypes and encourage women to pursue careers in science.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated every year on February 11 to highlight the vital contributions women make to scientific research and innovation, while also drawing attention to the barriers they continue to face in STEM fields. It serves as a global reminder that science thrives on diversity, and that empowering women and girls to pursue scientific careers strengthens not only research communities but society as a whole.

Yesterday we had an ECHO project meeting, during which we captured a lovely group photo with some of the wonderful women scientists in our project.

Although Kadri, Lehti and Monika (UTARTU), Samantha (UCPH), Ludovica and Sara (KUL) as well as Indre and Akvile (VU), couldn’t join the meeting this time, they are very much part of the project – always in the team, even when not in the picture.
